Carer’s Notebook is a digital care-management platform based in Australia, built to support caregivers by organising essential care data in one secure, accessible place. It allows families and care teams to track medications, manage appointments, monitor therapy progress and share important updates with ease.

The platform was born out of real family need — its founders launched it after experiencing firsthand the challenges of coordinating care for dependents with complex needs.

Goal and Project Overview

Carer’s Notebook aimed to relieve the stress and complexity faced by caregivers by providing a unified, intuitive mobile platform to manage all aspects of dependent care. Their goal was to streamline daily caregiving tasks, improve coordination among carers, and elevate the overall quality of care delivered to dependents.

And for that, they approached AppMart to design and build an iOS application that would deliver on this vision.

Solution and AppMart’s Approach

We delivered a comprehensive native iOS application built with Swift and SwiftUI, leveraging a modern architecture (MVVM-C) and Clean Architecture principles to ensure maintainability and scalability. The app incorporated secure REST APIs, Combine for reactive data flow, and local data management via CoreData to support offline capability.

During development, our team prioritised user experience and data privacy: we implemented robust authentication and permission controls for collaborative caregiving, and built flexible subscription management for free and premium access tiers.

We worked closely with the Carer’s Notebook founders to translate caregiving workflows into intuitive mobile interactions, from medication alerts to appointment logs and collaborator sharing, ensuring the output stayed reliable to real-world carer needs while staying technically robust and secure.
